No Excuses. Start Here.

What You Can Do.

Most men want to help but don't know where to start. This is where you start. Practical, real actions — from the everyday to the collective — that every man can take right now.

64% of men in Ireland already agree they should call out inappropriate behaviour. The will is there.

AllMen exists to turn that intention into action. Research by Women's Aid Ireland shows that the biggest barrier isn't attitude — it's men not knowing what to do or where to start.

This page removes that excuse. Everything below is actionable, specific, and achievable — whether you've five minutes or five hours to give.

01
In Your Daily Life
The smallest actions, done consistently, are what actually change culture
🗣️
Call It Out
When you hear a comment, a joke, or language that demeans women — say something. You don't need a speech. "That's not on" or "Come on, man" is enough. Silence is agreement.
📱
Use The Naughty Step
Someone in your group chat crossed a line? Don't scroll past it. Send them The Naughty Step link. It does the heavy lifting without the confrontation.
👂
Listen — Actually Listen
When a woman tells you about an experience of harassment or abuse, believe her first. Don't interrogate. Don't offer alternative explanations. Just listen.
🔍
Examine Your Own Behaviour
Have you ever made a comment that objectified a woman? Laughed along with a joke you knew was wrong? Looked the other way? Honest self-reflection is where this starts — for all of us.
🧒
Talk To Younger Men
If you have sons, nephews, younger brothers or colleagues — model the behaviour. Boys learn what men around them do. The culture shifts one generation at a time.
02
In Your Community
Abuse happens in social circles, workplaces, and communities — and that's where it has to be challenged
🏢
Challenge It at Work
If your workplace doesn't have a clear harassment policy, ask why. If it does, make sure you know it. Be the person who speaks up when something inappropriate happens in a professional setting.
🤝
Support Local Services
Volunteer with or donate to organisations like Women's Aid, Safe Ireland, or your local rape crisis centre. They are chronically underfunded and doing essential work.
🏃
Intervene Safely
If you witness harassment in public, you don't need to confront the perpetrator. Talk to the woman — check she's okay. Distract, don't escalate. Your presence alone can change the situation.
📢
Spread The Movement
Share AllMen with other men. Not just online — in real conversations. This movement grows when men bring other men in. You are the recruitment team.
03
Collective Action
Individual behaviour changes culture. Collective action changes systems.
Join Protests
When marches and rallies against violence against women are called — show up. As a man. Your visible presence sends a signal that this is not just a women's issue.
✉️
Contact Your Politicians
Write to your local TD. Ask what they are doing to address violence against women, what their position is on the Third National DSGBV Strategy, and whether they're funding frontline services adequately. Politicians respond to constituents who show up.
📋
Sign Petitions
Support campaigns calling for stronger legislation, better resourcing for domestic abuse services, and improved court processes for victims. Watch this space — AllMen will amplify these as they arise.
💰
Fund The Work
Regular, small donations to frontline Irish organisations make a massive difference. Women's Aid, Safe Ireland, and the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre all accept donations directly.
Irish Organisations Doing The Work
